Gigeresque

It took me a long while to appreciate the Alien movie franchise.  However, I found H.R. Giger's art compelling from the first.  Obviously this bracelet from Mugler brought the Swiss artist to mind immediately, but it's sleek chrome finish and elongated spike would have caught my eye regardless.

Red Riding Who?

I've been preoccupied with fairy tales due to an upcoming photoshoot I'm costuming. So it is no suprise that this ring stopped me in my tracks while surfing the net for fabulous finds.

This little guy from Ugo Cacciatori doesn't look anything like the wolf images conjured up in Red Riding Hood but I'd wear him just the same.

Back in Session

I don't know if it is because back to school time is here or if I've been watching too many episodes of Mad Men, but I am in serious need of a satchel bag.  This style bag is everywhere from Neimans to Target. A couple of my favorites are below.

The  Trantham from Aldo is affordable at $50, whereas the Alexa from Mulberry will set you back a cool $1200.

Whatever your budget, I think every girl, heading back to school or office, needs a satchel on her arm.

McQueen is still King

August is almost over, but the warm weather will persevere here in Los Angeles. But that hasn't stopped me from adding Fall shoes to my list.  At the top of my list are these beauties from Alexander McQueen.  Love the architecturally stylish heel paired with the sweet and feminine black bow.

Golden Shards

I love chunky, asymmetrical statement jewelry pieces. Luv AJ never disappoints in this department. My current favorite from this line- Gold crystal shard earrings.  I'm usually not the golden girl (gun metal is more my color) but I can make an exception in this case.

Luv AJ is also doing a more affordable line for Urban Outfitters this Fall. Can't wait to see those pieces.

Transitional Floral

Florals have been the print of Summer. If you want to keep wearing them thru winter, pick florals with neutral or dark backgrounds.   A floral scarf or bag is a perfect way to brighten up those drab winter days.

Second chances

If you've been pining away for Balenciaga's open work boots and either missed the boat, as they are sold out everywhere, or just couldn't get your hands on the $1280 to own them, fear not.  Deena & Ozzy have come out with their own toned down version for Fall at an afforable $49.

The buckles aren't as heavy duty or the sole so thick but for the price, I'd happily make the concessions.
