Back to Black

I've been obsessing over neutral accessories the last few weeks, but after seeing these beauties, I've gone back to the dark side. These lovely suede cutout booties work for day or night and the stiletto and peep toe add just the right amount of glamour.

Watch where you step!

I got to admit, when it comes to these nude pink pumps with attitude from Sam Edelman, you either love them or hate them. I fall under the "Love them!" category.  I know us girls joke about our stilletos doubling as weapons but it's not a stretch in this case.

Definitely, NOT for the faint of heart, as they will illicit comments from total strangers.

Dreaming of Cooler Weather

Summer hasn't even begun , but I am wishing for Fall as I lust over these black suede wedge booties from Zoraide with a hint of the most beautiful red snake skin.

I have the perfect pair of crochet lace stockings calling this shoe's name.

Made You Look!

Tiffany Tuttle's line of shoes, started in 2005, is a combination of her three loves-fashion, art and dance.

I've been obsessed.  Her great use of line and dramatic shapes entice you to take a second look as design isn't always what it seems.

These crop leather sandals are great for summer with a tunic and denim shorts or something a little more dramatic.

Creme de la Creme

I'm loving neutral accessories right now. They add a subtle touch of Spring to an all black outfit.  This creme leather fringe bag from Roberto Cavalli is a current favorite, though I admit out of my price range.

Gorgeous leather, beautiful fringe (oh how I love thee), and cross stitch detail make this bag a stunner.  And there is plenty of room for your essentials, which for me include a sketch book.

ACB

No, it's not dyslexia. It's Annie Costello Brown.  Los Angeles designer of organic and funky leather jewelry.  She's designed pieces for Yves Saint Laurent to Urban Outfitters and her collections just keep getting better and better.  Below is the Linea Blade Necklace from her Spring line.
So fierce I can forgive the bronze color.

Rucksacks are convenient but not always fashionable. In comes Topshop with this great little number that not only has this summer's essential details of tassels and whipstitching but also includes my current favorite detail,  fringe.

With two zip side pockets this is great as an everyday bag or a perfect essential to take to a summer music festival.

If you are a true boho fashionista, Topshop has some great items right up your alley. Check them out at www.Topshop.com

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Channeling a little more Ziggy Stardust than David Johansen, these killer python and suede Christian Louboutins are to die for... even if they aren't my usual black.
The color combo of these platforms is great for Spring and a perfect transition into the Fall.

Industrial Artifacts

I love contradictions and stark contrasts. Be it black and white or curvy and straight. But my favorite is vintage modern.  I love bygone eras and futuristic styling but when they come together beautifully, like this leather bag from KM Rii, I'm in heaven.

Japanese designer Lui Onozaki draws on inspiration from historical elements and weaves them into timeless designs that can be just as much today as Mad Maxx.

If you live in the Pasadena area, check them out.  The place has an aesthetic after my own heart from the KM Rii handbag above to Octopus pendants and Steam Punk inspired clothing.  There is also an exhibit of miniature insect dioramas by artist Lisa Wood.

The Urban West

I've been lusting over Dana Lorenz' designs for the past 2 years. Whether it's her pricey Fenton line or her more reasonable Fallon line, her punked out layered pieces are far from boring and work for day as much as night. As long as you have a flair for the dramatic.

Considering my current obsession with tribal/Native American inspired fashion, it's no surprise that my current favorite Fallon piece is a rhinestone curb chain bib in gunmetal.

Yeah, this will work just fine with my summer tanks.

The Beginning

I've been wanting to start a blog focused on fashion accessories for a long time and after mulling it over for months I realized, I've got to start somewhere so how about here and now?

Everyone who knows me personally (and even careful observers who don't) knows I am obsessed with shoes. No suprise, my first post is about shoes.

I've had an obsession with Rick Owens for a couple of years now, but he has some kickass wedges that are great for warmer weather.  These open wedges are not only architecturally stunning but are also sexy as hell.  They would go just as easily with leggings and a t-shirt as with an asymmetrical draped dress (think Helmut Lang).

For those who would rather wear something not in black during the summer, they also come in a great dusty brown color.
